Expert Advice For Booking Corporate Entertainment

byAlma Abell

Are you looking to hire entertainment for an upcoming corporate event in Manhattan? If so, you will have a range of choices. However, you should know that not every company that offers corporate entertainment company in Manhattan is that you want to work with. There are a variety of different companies out there that offer corporate entertainment in Manhattan and by using the following tips, you will be able to find the right entertainment company and plan the perfect event for your business.

Plan Well in Advance

Nothing is more frustrating than finding the perfect corporate entertainment option then finding out that they are not available for the date you need them for. Because you want to make sure that you can book the right entertainment when you need them, it is a good idea to book your entertainment well in advance. This way, you can be sure that the entertainment you want will be available on the date of your event.

Know What You Want and Plan for Your Audience

Another thing that you will want to make sure that you do when looking for corporate entertainment is to know what you want and to plan for your audience. For instance, you may be looking for a corporate entertainer who is funny and entertaining like a comic, especially if you have an adult audience. However, if you have a lot of children who will be attending this event, a comic may not be the best choice as they can be a bit “adult” in their presentation and children will not understand any of the gags and jokes that comics typically use.

Plan a Budget and Stick to It

You will also want to make sure that you know what your budget is and more importantly, that you are sticking to your budget. It will probably be best if you simply know what you can spend from the start and only look for entertainment options in that budget range. That way, you won’t spend a lot of time looking for these entertainment options that are out of your budget and can focus on those that you can afford.

These are only a few tips that can help you to find the right corporate entertainment for your upcoming event. For more information, reach out to a corporate entertainment provider.

Significant Mistakes In Mobile App Design

Significant Mistakes in Mobile App Design

by

Victoria Blue

For app success design is a key point. And it\’s not strange – because the design is first users see That\’s why design can either make or ruin your app success All successful apps have same elements, like elegant design, easy-to-use app interface and quick-to-reach features The mistakes are all different and not so easy to find But here is the top of most crucial mistakes to avoid in your design

1)Too many features. It\’s important to have useful features in your app Too many features is not the best decision – unnecessary functions can only spoil the app Of course, the app you create should help the users with their problem or task But too big number of features can turn any app into confusing mics When opening your app, users should immediately understand where the most important features are and how to use them That why, the idea to fit on more feature here and there is far from the best for

application design

and can make your app fall

2)Over designed app. It s well known that any people don t like white spaces and believe that they should be filled with something. But it is often a big mistake. But if you make the designers to draw something just to fill the white spaces, it can make a mess from the app The simplicity is always a key to success Skip all unnecessary elements You should leave only the crucial features, and make the user interface easy to understand and use.

3)Speed lacking app. If the design prevents your app from running fast, change apps design, not speed As with websites, if your app or something in the app is loading too long users will leave. The well-known website tendency, that the site loading longer than 4 seconds loose visitors is not just for web. This rule works with the applications too So even cool animation is not a reason to make the app slow – try to preload any necessary information and test your app for speed before final release.

4)Too many details. If you need to use descriptions, too much text in you interface – your app design has already failed All in-apps action should be intuitive and understandable without any extra explanations. Take into account that most users, who do not understand something in your app, just quit it Interface that is understandable even for children is ideal solution, especially in mobile design

5)Numerous Helps and FAQs It can look strange, but take into account that all popular apps need no help or FAQs and this is why they are so popular But think twice – if the app\’s FAQ is necessary for users – the app is too complicated to be quickly understood Remember, if you need FAQ, your usability war is already lost If you look at the app as a user, you can avoid many typical developers and mobile web design mistakes before the release If you still think everything is understandable, ask your parents, relatives or non-tech friends Now if they also find your app not complicated – you reached your goal!

Murray Hill on the life and versatility of a New York drag king

Monday, November 19, 2007

Drag—dressing in the clothing atypical of your born gender—in recent years has found mainstream success. Films such as Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar have prominently featured drag performers. But they have all focused on men in drag as women.

Murray Hill is a comedian, emcee and performer. He is also a drag king. Called “The Hardest Working Middle-aged Man in Show Business”, The New York Times christened him “the current reigning patriarch of the downtown performance community.” He is seemingly everywhere, emceeing a bingo night at the now closed, Jimmy Fallon-backed Mo Pitkins’ House of Satisfaction on Avenue A, or hosting the Polyamorous Pride Day in Central Park. Hill has become a legend in New York’s “anything goes” counterculture theater scene who is beginning to find mainstream success; which would be a first for a drag king.

David Shankbone’s examination of New York City‘s culture has brought him to the whip’s end of a BDSM dungeon, on the phone with RuPaul, matching wits with Michael Musto, grilling Gay Talese, eating dinner with Augusten Burroughs and quizzing the bands that play the Bowery Ballroom. In this segment he talks to downtown legend Murray Hill, former New York City mayoral candidate and comedian, on the last night of Mo Pitkins’ House of Satisfaction.

It is important homeowners learn about their options so they can choose the right deck for their home.

What are the Options For Decking Materials?

When it comes to choosing materials for Decks in Brookfield WI, homeowners have a few options. Understanding the options, their benefits, and all costs are important for ensuring a homeowner can make a sound decision when it comes time for them to begin the process of purchasing materials. The following are the most popular options for decking materials.

  • Wood has always been the material of choice for homeowners who want a sturdy deck that will last as long as possible. Many homeowners opt for pressure-treated wood when building a deck because it is less likely to rot over time. No matter what type of wood a homeowner chooses for their deck, it is imperative they properly treat the materials so the wood will be protected from damage caused by weather exposure.

Well, there are over 100 factors that Google considers when deciding where to position your posts in the search engines. Can you name even three of them? What about even key word placement in your text? Keyword placement is quite basic. Do you understand it all?

What about market research, as it pertains to SEO? Do you even know how to search out and identify the most optimal words that are being used by potential clients and customers on the net. Words that relate to whatever it is that your business is providing?

If your answers to any of those questions was no , then you are just as prepared to do your own PR, as you are to do your own dental work. Or even if you do have some understanding of basic keyword placement, you need to know that you will be going up against professions who make it their business to be the most competitive on the net.

One test you can take is to simply type one popular search engine keyword into your computers search engine. For instance, if you’re in the janitorial business, simply type in janitorial services . After the first page pops up, look to the upper right hand corner and there will be a number that represents all the entries that have been posted.

If you’re lucky, the number will be in the hundreds of thousands. Most likely it will be over a million. What this means is that you will be competing for space in the search engine with over a million others? Are you ready? Given these numbers, is it really worth spending your time and money to do it yourself? Maybe now you can better see why you should use a public relations agency staffed by professionals.

Ex-US soldier sentenced to life in prison for Iraqi teen rape, four murders

Saturday, September 5, 2009

A former US soldier has been sentenced to life in prison for raping a teen and murdering her and her family while on active duty in Iraq. The jury failed to reach the unanimous verdict required for the death penalty sought by the prosecution.

[…] if I had never gone to Iraq I would never have got caught up in anything like this

According to testimony given by two soldiers, Steven Dale Green was part of a group who decided they wanted to rape a girl they had seen walking through her village, 14-year-old Abeer Qassim al-Janabi. They walked to her house while disguised as insurgents and separated her from her parents and younger sister.

Green then shot dead Abeer’s family while two other soldiers raped the girl. He then raped her himself while she wept before covering her face with a pillow and fatally shooting her. The gang then covered her naked body with a blanket soaked in kerosene, using a lighter to start a fire before walking 200 yards to a nearby checkpoint where they cooked a meal.

Green had already been discharged from the army when his crimes were discovered. He had previously spoken of a desire to murder Iraqi civilians and his defence argued he should never have been allowed to return to duty. A nurse had decided he would not carry out his desires. A US civilian court tried him, the first such prosecution of a soldier under a law allowing servicemen to be charged with crimes carried out abroad.

The judge described his actions as “unimaginable, unjustified and inexcusable” and sentenced him to five consecutive life sentences without possibility of parole. Four others had already been sentenced. Three are all serving life with parole after ten years, and a fourth who acted as a lookout is serving a 27-month sentence.

It took months for the offences to be discovered, even though Green had quickly confessed to a sergeant. Soldiers speaking to stress counsellors talked of the crimes after the abduction and murders of two other soldiers. When news of the soldiers’ actions broke, insurgents killed several American servicemen in revenge.

The prosecution described Green as “criminal and perverse” while the defence called him a “broken warrior.” Green said he was acting upon orders from former Specialist Paul Cortez, another of the attackers, and told the court “Y’all can act like I’m a psychopath or a sexual predator or whatever. But if I had never gone to Iraq I would never have got caught up in anything like this.”
